Description
No trip to California would be complete without a visit to Yosemite National Park, which covers 1,189 square miles of some of the world's most spectacular scenery. This 2-day adventure is the perfect side trip to your next San Francisco vacation.
Day 1
Let our friendly & knowledgeable driver-guide pick you up from your downtown San Francisco or Fisherman's Wharf hotel aboard our luxury air-conditioned van. Leave San Francisco behind as we cross the Bay Bridge with amazing views of Alcatraz & Angel Islands.
Cruise through Oakland, the East Bay and on to the Central Valley to stop for groceries and pickup our picnic lunch. Travel through Gold Country and the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
Arrive at Yosemite National Park and hike down to the Giant Sequoia Trees for a picnic lunch (meal included). After lunch, enjoy a fully narrated 1.5-hour guided tour through Yosemite's glaciated valley with its famous waterfalls and rock formations.
After the tour, stop for the afternoon at the base of Yosemite Falls. Your guide will provide a choice of activities that may include: a walk to the base of the falls, time at the main visitor's center, swimming, biking or hiking.
Regroup and head to your lodging for dinner, time to relax by the river and hang out in the pub (meal not included). Stay at the Cedar Lodge, which is situated in the picturesque Merced River canyon close to the river. There is a private beach access to the Merced River along with an indoor and outdoor pool and jacuzzi.
Day 2
Wake up, have breakfast & pack up. Drive as a group to Glacier Point for views of Yosemite Valley. Here, you have the option to hike back to the Valley or return in the van and have a full free day in Yosemite Valley.
Choose different hiking options: from short easy walks to long strenuous ones. Your guide will give you all the details. You can also choose to check out the main visitor's center, The Ansel Adams Gallery, The Ahwanhee Hotel, spend time by the river or rent a bike.
Meet up with the rest of your group and head to the base of El Capitan to spot climbers. Then, it's time to return to San Francisco. Stop for a bite to eat along the way (meal not included). Enjoy the San Francisco skyline as we cross the Bay Bridge and return you to your hotel.

A minimum of 5 passengers are required to run this tour.

Excellent guide who made the experience most memorable

This two day trip to Yosemite was wonderful. It was our first trip to both San Francisco & Yosemite, and it gave us an opportunity to get a well guided overview of the park plus some time on our own, without having to drive the long distance between the city and Yosemite. (A one day trip would definitely not be enough time.) Our guide, Greg, was very knowledgeable and upbeat, and a group of only 13 tour mates made the experience friendly and fun.

Along with Yosemite itself, our guide made this experience one of the best ever for us. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared his knowledge well. His choice of stops in the central valley were perfect for getting a sense of the place. His choice of music in the van was superb! The Cedar Lodge was nicer than we anticipated and added to the romance for Brenda and I. We would definitely suggest this trip to anyone. Awesome! To our guide: I'm looking forward to your recommended music list.

I traveled with my wife, both of us thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the trip. Our driver was very informative and obliging, and took us to all the best parts of the park whilst making sure we had time to do our individual things. We found the trip good value and we would not have been able to see as much had we done the trip on our own. We would certainly recommend the package to our friends or anyone contemplating a visit to Yosemite!

The tour guide was great. Hit the right balance between being funny and serious, talking and being quiet. He showed us great locations (including a view of San Francisco at night on our way home).
The weather was fabulous the first day and Ok the next and Yosemite is simply awesome. The drive from SFO is long, so the overnight trip is most highly recommended.

It was a really lovely trip, great to fit in to my short trip to USA. The walk down the mountain was fabulous, though the path ver slippery. People should be advised about this,
Many thanks

I was very happy with the decision to stay overnight and travel in a small van, instead of a motorcoach bus...our group had only 9 people. Our guide, John, was able to take us to interesting sites on the first day. Our hotel stay was modest but comfortable. We had plenty of time the second day to explore on our own. I would definitely recommend this type of overnight tour.

Excellent and informative guide who went out of his way to fulfill a particular request from a guest. I liked the format of the trip. Only 2 minor faults: the evening food was not great, and on the return journey I would have preferred to stop in the actual town rather than the mall. Other than that, very well organized and enjoyable.

Good driver and guide who stayed with the group throughout the first day. 2nd day was at leisure in the park. My expectation was however that the lodging accomodation would be in Yosemite itself. Cedar Lodge was 8 miles out, and in itself good accomodation; but one loses a bit of time driving back into the park in the morning. The picnic lunch spot on the first day was well chosen. A group of 9 in a van that seats 13, provides comfort during the journey. Overall a well organised, executed trip and a memorable one at that!
