We had a great time on this tour. As people familiar with the San Francisco area, we decided to do the tour because we didn't get out and about enough and explore the city as often as we'd like. So this was a great opportunity to take some bikes through areas we rarely, if ever, go in the city. It was perfect weather and we had the chance to see all the outdoor activities people do in the city when the weather's nice. It also made the trip over the Golden Gate bridge perfect. Sure we could have rented bikes and done that ourselves, but it was nice to have someone guide us through the process, showing us not only the way to get to the bridge, but also the dos and don'ts of riding across. And we probably would never have gone to Sausalito otherwise, but it was so pretty over there we're really glad we did! And because of the traffic and parking, it was perfect to be on a bike. The ferry ride back to Fisherman's Wharf was easy and fun, and we made our way back to the bike rental place without a problem. Really enjoyed our tour guide. He was knowledgeable about the city and gave us interesting facts that even we didn't know as locals. Overall it was a great experience for locals and tourists alike. But fair warning, there are some hills that will work your quads pretty hard! If you're way out of shape, you may find yourself walking your bike up the hill. The others will wait for you at the top, but even for athletes like ourselves, we found a couple of the hills challenging. Overall though it's fairly flat; just bring water and a sense of adventure and you'll have fun!

I was the only person to show up for the tour. So, rather than do the tour, I rented a racing bike and got directions from a very helpful tour guide at the shop. Went off on my own, had a great time. Folks at the shop were very helpful.
